This 1932 Ford five-window coupe hot rod was built in California in the 2010s and spent several years in storage before it was acquired by the seller in 2020. The car is finished in red over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a 350ci Chevrolet CT400 V8 paired with a Tremec TKO-600 five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a FAST fuel injection system, MSD electronic ignition, Wilwood front disc brakes, a 9″ rear end with a 3.50:1 final drive, dual Flowmaster exhausts, power windows, a tilt steering column, and a CD player. A service performed in December 2020 reportedly included the installation of polyurethane suspension bushings, a body panel adjustment, and an oil change.
The steel bodywork features a smoothed cowl, flush-mounted windshield glass, and a 2″ chopped roof with a ribbed center panel. The nose was stretched 5″ to cover the front axle, and additional features include a hidden trailer hitch, a flip-up fuel door, dual side-view mirrors, a louvered hood, and a polished grille.
Staggered-width 15″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with 185/65 Toyo Extensa tires up front and 285/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial tires out back. The suspension features a dropped and chromed front axle with radius rods, while a four-bar setup with a Panhard rod and adjustable coilovers are fitted out back. Polyurethane suspension bushings were fitted in December 2020. Steering is handled by a Flaming River Chevrolet Vega-style steering box. Wilwood disc brakes are fitted up front, and Ford 2×11” drums provide braking power out back.
The cabin features a bench trimmed in tan leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes power windows, lap belts, a remote trunk release, and a Kenwood CD player.
The replica 1940 Ford steering wheel is mounted on a tilting steering column ahead of a steel dashboard. VDO instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm speedometer, a voltmeter, and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows just over 6k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 350ci Chevrolet CT400 V8 features aluminum cylinder heads, an eight-quart oil pan, and a FAST adjustable fuel injection system. An aluminum radiator and an MSD ignition are fitted. An oil change was last performed in December 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec TKO-600 five-speed manual transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, and a 9″ rear end with a 3.50:1 final drive. The exhaust system features 2.5″ tubing from the headers back, along with flex joints, oxygen sensors, Flowmaster mufflers, stainless steel tips.
