This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 was reportedly sold new in Frankfurt, Germany, and was purchased by the seller from the estate of the previous owner in 2020, reportedly after the car spent approximately 20 years in storage. It is finished in black over beige upholstery, and power comes from a 6.3-liter M100 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 14″ Bundt wheels, disc brakes, a self-leveling air suspension, and power windows. Service performed under current ownership is said to have included the installation of a PerTronix ignition, tires, brake lines, suspension airbags, and spark plugs as well as a cleaning of the fuel tank.
The car was finished from the factory in black (040 G) and features chrome bumpers, a heated rear window, stainless-steel window trim, and an automatic antenna.
The 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are mounted with 195/70 Yokohama Avid Touring S tires that were installed under the seller’s ownership. The car is equipped with a self-leveling air suspension, power steering, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Replacement brake lines and suspension airbags were reportedly installed under the seller’s ownership. A suspension system leak is noted by the seller, who recommends the replacement of the control valves.
The cabin features front seats and a rear bench trimmed in beige with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes wood trim on the dash, doors, and center console, as well as power windows and a floor shifter. The period Philips AM/FM radio and the air-conditioning system do not work. There is a tear in the driver’s seat bottom, and its seatback panel is loose.
A replacement four-spoke steering wheel from a later Mercedes is fitted ahead of a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 6.3-liter M100 V8 was factory rated at 247 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Service performed under current ownership is said to have included the installation of a PerTronix ignition, replacement of the spark plugs, and an oil and filter change. The replacement of the hoses and belts is recommended by the seller, as is additional sorting.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The fuel tank was reportedly removed and cleaned under the seller’s ownership.
