This 2001 Honda Prelude spent much of its life in South Dakota before it was acquired by the seller in October of 2020 and subsequently relocated to Connecticut. Now showing 69k miles, the car is finished in black over black patterned cloth and is powered by a 2.2-liter VTEC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a glass sunroof, 16″ wheels, a rear spoiler, air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. The timing belt and water pump were replaced in April 2020.
The car is finished in Nighthawk Black Pearl (B-92P1) and features a rear spoiler, body-colored mirrors, factory side skirts, and a glass sunroof. The windshield was replaced and the side and rear windows were tinted under previous ownership.
Five-spoke 16″ machined-finish wheels wear 205/50 Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 tires. Four-wheel double-wishbone independent suspension and power-assisted anti-lock disc brakes came standard in the fifth-generation Prelude.
The manually-adjustable bolstered front seats and folding rear seats are upholstered in black cloth with patterned centers. Amenities include power windows, locks, and mirrors as well as air conditioning, cruise control, a factory CD stereo, and Honda-branded floor mats.
A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames instrumentation including a tachometer with a 7,400-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, and a six-digit odometer showing 69k miles.
The 2.2-liter inline-four features dual overhead camshafts and VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 156 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 rpm. Service records from 2020 list an oil change and the replacement of the timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, and battery.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
