This 1987 Porsche 944S is a Canadian-market example finished in red over black leather and powered by a 2.5-liter 16-valve inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Guards Red (LM3A), the car features pop-up headlights with washers, fog lights, a rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, side moldings with “16 Ventiler” script, and a removable power-tilting sunroof panel.
Silver-finished 15″ phone dial wheels with Porsche-crest center caps wear 215/60 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. The 944S was equipped from the factory with upgraded brakes, revised springs, and larger sway bars when compared with the standard 944.
The cabin features seats trimmed in black leather with vinyl sides as well as matching carpets and trim. Equipment includes electric windows, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 cassette stereo.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames instrumentation consisting of a 270-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 35k kilometers (~22k miles).
The 2.5L 16-valve inline-four was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque when new, and delivers power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Service performed under current ownership has reportedly included replacing the balance shaft belt, timing belt, and water pump along with performing an oil change.
