This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is said to have undergone a refurbishment during previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in January 2016. The car is finished in white over two-tone black and white vinyl and is powered by a rebuilt 312ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a black soft top, a heater/defroster, and a retro-style digital stereo. Service in preparation for sale is said to have consisted of a tune-up, a kick-down rod adjustment, and an oil change.
The body was reportedly refinished in white during the refurbishment. Exterior features include a black soft top, rear fender skirts with bright rock guards, chrome bumpers with integrated dual exhaust outlets at the rear, side vent doors, hooded headlights, a hood scoop, faux fender louvers, and tail fins. The seller states that the right fender skirt was repainted to correct scratches sustained when it came loose while driving. A body-colored fiberglass hardtop with porthole windows is included in the sale.
Chrome 14″ Kelsey-Hayes-style wire wheels are fitted with branded three-eared spinners and Coker Classic whitewall tires mounted circa 2016. A covered spare is stowed in the trunk.
The interior features black vinyl seat bolster upholstery with pleated white inserts, a matching dash pad and carpeting, and engine-turned aluminum trim on the dashboard and door panels. Amenities include padded armrests and sun visors, a heater/defroster, and a retro-style digital stereo.
The three-spoke Lifeguard steering wheel fronts a hooded instrument cluster featuring a 140-mph speedometer flanked by a 5k-rpm tachometer, gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, and a clock. A trio of SunPro auxiliary gauges are mounted on the lower edge of the dash. The five-digit odometer indicates 44k miles, approximately 500 of which are said to have been added during current ownership.
The 312ci Thunderbird Special V8 came equipped with a single Holley four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 245 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque when new. A tune-up was performed, the kick-down rod was adjusted, and the oil was changed in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission.
