This 1967 Ford Mustang coupe was reportedly sold new in Arizona and was acquired by the seller in 1986. The car is finished in red over matching upholstery, and power comes from a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was placed into storage in 2008 and was recommissioned in 2018 with the installation of a new water pump, heater core, voltage regulator, and a battery as well as a rebuild of the carburetor. A new distributor rotor was installed in April 2021.
The car received bodywork and a repaint in its current red by Draggin Customs of Phoenix, Arizona, in 2003. Bodywork was performed on the rear quarter panels prior to the 2003 repaint, and the seller notes evidence of a prior aLident at the left rear. Repair work is also noted in the rear well of the trunk.
The 14″ Pacer Torq Thrust-style wheels are mounted with 185/70 Bridgestone Potenza RE900 tires showing 2002 and 2003 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features bucket seats that were retrimmed in red upholstery in 2003, as were the rear bench and door panels. Equipment includes a Kenwood CD player, lap belts, and a removable center console with cupholders. The under-dash air-conditioning system does not work, and the front passenger seatbelt does not extend.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. Just under 77k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, more than 30k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The seller notes that the turn signal switch needs to be held in position while in use.
The 289ci V8 was reportedly serviced in 2019 with the installation of new head gaskets, a water pump, a heater core, a voltage regulator, and a battery. The carburetor was rebuilt at the same time. A new distributor rotor was installed in April 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
