This 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera is a black-over-black Rest-of-World coupe that was imported in 1985 by Gulfstream Industries, and it spent time in Arkansas and Louisiana before it was acquired by the seller in 2017 and relocated to Michigan. Subsequent work included resealing the replacement 3.2-liter flat-six, fitting a short-shift kit and gate shift kit to the five-speed manual transaxle, replacement of the dashboard, and installation of LED lighting as well as Rial 16″ alloy wheels and a lowered suspension with Bilstein dampers. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, an electric sunroof, an Alpine stereo, front sport seats with powered height adjustment, front and rear fog lights, and front and rear spoilers.
The seller states that the exterior was repainted in its current shade of black during previous ownership, and the windshield has also been replaced. Features include an electric sunroof, European-style tail lights, front and rear fog lights, and front and rear spoilers. The seller installed LED bulbs in the Hella H7 headlights, and the front fog lights have been converted to function as daytime running lights and are also equipped with LED bulbs. The Carfax report lists damage occurring to the left-front corner in September 1987, with no further information provided.
Staggered-width 16″ Rial wheels are mounted with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires measuring 205/50 out front and 225/50 out back, and both the wheels and tires were installed during current ownership. The suspension has been lowered and fitted with the following components:
Turbo-specification tie rod ends with Rebel S Racing Teflon front suspension bushings
Elephant Racing rear control arm rubber bushings
Aftermarket torsion bars
Bilstein shock absorbers
The front sport seats are trimmed in black leather and are equipped with power height adjustments, and during current ownership the matching black dashboard pad was replaced. Coco floor mats line the floors, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, and an Alpine CD stereo with Bluetooth compatibility along with an amplifier and replacement speakers. A short-shift kit and gate shift kit are fitted, along with a 917-style shift knob.
The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer and a 180-mph speedometer along with gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just under 92k miles.
The seller states that the replacement 3.2-liter flat-six was sourced from a 1987 model and installed approximately thirty years ago. A valve adjustment was performed during current ownership, and additional maintenance is said to include replacement of the following:
Engine oil seals, oil lines, oil change, gaskets, fuel lines, and sensors
Spark plugs, ignition leads, distributor, and battery
Engine sound pad insulation
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The catalytic converter has been removed but is included in the sale, and the seller states that a European-specification exhaust system is currently fitted.
Service records and parts invoices dating from 2017 are included in the sale, along with removed factory components including the a set of 15″ Fuchs wheels.
