This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 240GD is an ex-Danish military vehicle that was refurbished in Poland before being imported to the US in August 2021. It is finished in blue with a black soft top over two-tone seat upholstery, and power is from a naturally aspirated 2.4L OM616 diesel inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials. Additional features include 16″ Hutchinson wheels as well as Koni shocks, a snorkel intake, a swing-away tire carrier, LED lights, and a voltage converter.
The body was refinished with textured blue paint and fitted with black fender extensions during the build. Equipment includes a replacement soft top with roll-up plastic windows, a powder-coated skid plate, LED lighting, front light guards, and a rear hitch.
Hutchinson 16″ beadlock wheels are mounted with 265/75 Goodyear Wrangler tires. A non-matching spare combination is mounted to a swing-away carrier at the rear, and the truck is equipped with Koni shocks as well as front disc brakes.
The cabin was refreshed with two-tone leather upholstery accented with diamond-patterned inserts as well as contrasting orange stitching on the dashboard, steering wheel, and front seats. Additional equipment includes a rubber floor liner, inward-facing rear seats, and rear storage compartments.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation includes a 180-km/h speedometer and gauges for temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 69k kilometers (~43k miles).
The truck is powered by a 2.4-Liter OM616 diesel inline-four that sends power through a four-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with locking front and rear differentials. Additional equipment includes a snorkel air-intake system, a mechanical fuel pump, and a voltage converter.
