This 1988 Toyota MR2 is finished in metallic blue over matching cloth and powered by a mid-mounted 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Subsequent work is said to have included an exterior repaint, fluid changes, servicing of the fuel system, and replacement of the spark plugs, ignition wires, and exhaust muffler. Equipment includes 14″ alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, electric windows and locks, and a factory cassette stereo.
The car is finished in Dark Blue Mica and was reportedly repainted during current ownership, at which point dents and dings in the body were also repaired. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a passenger-side air intake, and a factory body kit.
Silver-finished 14″ alloy wheels wear 195/60 Toyo Extensa A/S tires with 2018 date codes. The seller states that the front brake rotors were turned in October 2020.
The cabin features bolstered seats trimmed in patterned blue cloth with matching carpets, MR2-branded floor mats, and dash plastics. Amenities include a stock cassette stereo, cruise control, power windows, and power mirrors. The air conditioning does not work, there are cracks in the dash, the shifter boot is torn, and the windshield wipers do not return to their home position.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline. The six-digit odometer shows just under 33k miles.
The fuel-injected 4A-GE 1.6-liter inline-four features dual overhead camshafts and was factory-rated at 112 horsepower and 97 lb-ft of torque. Service in October 2020 is said to have included changes of the coolant, synthetic engine oil, and air filter as well as a fuel tank cleaning and replacement of the fuel pump and filter, spark plugs, and ignition wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. A replacement exhaust muffler was reportedly installed in October 2020.
