This 1992 Alpina B10 BiTurbo is one of 507 examples produced by the company, and it was imported to the US in 2001 and acquired by the seller in 2021. The car is finished in Diamantschwarz metallic, and the seller states that the car was refinished during prior ownership. Features include a power sunroof and Shadowline trim in addition to an Alpina front spoiler and replacement Alpina, B10, and BiTurbo badging. The exterior was ceramic coated and the emblems reapplied in 2020.
Alpina 17″ turbine wheels are wrapped in 235/45 front and 265/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and Alpina suspension changes include revised springs, anti-roll bars, and retuned shocks with an automatic-load leveling system out back. Alpina also fitted upgraded braking components on the BiTurbo, and the system was bled, the right-front caliper was rebuilt, and the rear brake components were replaced in 2020 along with the front strut inserts.
The cabin features power-adjustable Recaro front sport seats upholstered in cloth with Alpina blue and green stripes, and matching upholstery covers the rear seats and accents the door panels. Amenities include central locking, BMW floor mats, a wood trim Alpina shift knob, an onboard computer, dual-zone automatic climate control, a BMW Business cassette stereo, and power windows and mirrors. A knob mounted ahead of the shifter allows the driver to adjust the boost pressure.
A badge affixed to the dashboard indicates this chassis is number 384 in the series.
The four-spoke Alpina steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Additional readouts below the gauge cluster display boost pressure, oil temperature, oil pressure, and differential fluid temperature. The digital odometer indicates 58k miles.
The 3.4-liter M30B35 inline-six was modified by Alpina with twin Garrett T25 turbochargers, an intercooler, lightweight Mahle pistons, oil-spray cooling, and a revised cylinder head and camshaft. Output was rated at 355 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in 2020 included replacement of the water pump, spark plugs, hose lines, and the clutch master cylinder.
BiTurbo models were also equipped with a revised exhaust system, a revised Getrag five-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential.
